Medical rental: what to check when it arrives

  • Check that the electrical safety analyzer supports the standard you test to, such as IEC 62353, NFPA 99 or IEC 60601-1, and your mains configuration.
  • Run the analyzer's self-test and inspect the test leads and applied-part connections before your first device.
  • Patient simulators ship with NIST-traceable certificates, not accredited ones. Confirm that meets your quality system.
  • Check that the certificate due date covers your whole preventive maintenance round.

What calibration comes with the rental?

Every rental ships with a current calibration certificate from a Techmaster laboratory. Check that its due date covers your last day of testing and that it covers the ranges you will use.

Electrical measurements fall under the DC and low-frequency electrical discipline on our ANAB ISO/IEC 17025 scope. Patient simulators are not on the scope at any Techmaster lab and are certified NIST-traceable. Exact ranges and uncertainties are on our published accreditation scope.

Particle counters are not on the ANAB scope at any Techmaster lab, and Techmaster does not calibrate them. Patient simulators and optical radiometers are not on the ANAB scope at any Techmaster lab either, so they ship with NIST-traceable certificates, not ISO/IEC 17025 accredited ones.

Are patient simulators calibrated under ISO/IEC 17025?
No. Patient simulators are not on Techmaster's ANAB scope. They are calibrated with NIST-traceable certificates.
Do you calibrate electrosurgical analyzers?
Yes. Electrosurgical analyzers, including the Fluke QA-ES III, are the biomedical test instruments we calibrate most often. Send the model and the certificate level you need, and we confirm the details with the quote.
Which electrical safety standard should the analyzer support?
US hospitals usually test in service to NFPA 99 or IEC 62353, while device manufacturers test to IEC 60601-1. Check that the analyzer supports your standard, your mains voltage and the number of applied parts before the rental ships.
How do I rent from Techmaster?
Send the model or the specification it must meet, your start date, the last day you need it and the certificate level you need. We confirm availability and terms, then ship the instrument with its certificate or deliver it locally in Southern California, Silicon Valley or the Orlando area.
