What is accredited in Texas?
Every “Yes” or range below is on Techmaster’s ANAB ISO/IEC 17025 scope, certificate AC-1736. Exact ranges and measurement uncertainties are on our published accreditation scope.
| Discipline | Accredited at San Antonio | Typical instruments |
|---|---|---|
| Torque | To 1,000 lbf·ft, the highest range across Techmaster labs | Torque wrenches, torque screwdrivers, torque testers |
| High voltage | DC/AC to 150 kV, the highest range across Techmaster labs | Hipot testers, HV probes and dividers |
| High resistance | 10 PΩ tera-ohmmeter, only at San Antonio | Megohmmeters, insulation testers, electrometers |
| Pressure | −12 psi to 15,000 psi, barometric to 39 psia | Pressure gauges, transducers, calibrators |
| High current | AC high current to 1,500 A (San Antonio and Orlando); clamp-on to 1,025 A AC/DC | Clamp meters, current probes, shunts |
| DC and low-frequency electrical | DC voltage to 1.1 kV, current to 1,000 A via shunts | Multimeters, DC power supplies, electronic loads |
| Oscilloscopes | To 600 MHz, plus wave generator | Bench and handheld oscilloscopes |
| Gauge blocks and ring gages | Gauge blocks to 12 in, ring gages to 6.4 in | Gauge block sets, master rings |
RF and microwave, environmental chambers, vibration and 1-D/2-D dimensional calibration are not on the San Antonio scope. They are accredited at our California and Florida labs, so ask us how to route those instruments.
Which Texas industries do we calibrate for?
- Aerospace and defense: San Antonio and Dallas–Fort Worth aerospace maintenance and manufacturing: torque, pressure and electrical calibration on accredited certificates.
- Oil, gas and petrochemical: Houston and Gulf Coast operations: high-range pressure to 15,000 psi, torque and electrical test equipment.
- Electrical utilities and power: Hipot testers, insulation testers and high-current clamp meters, using the 150 kV, 10 PΩ and 1,500 A capabilities.
- Semiconductors and manufacturing: Austin and Central Texas production floors: multimeters, power supplies, electronic loads and oscilloscopes.
How do Texas customers send equipment?
Customers anywhere in Texas can ship instruments to the San Antonio lab. Contact us to ask about pickup, drop-off at the lab and on-site calibration for equipment that should not leave your facility. For hours and directions, see the San Antonio lab page.
The same accredited calibration services are available nationwide from our other labs. See our accredited calibration services and all calibration lab locations.
How do you choose a calibration lab in Texas?
- Scope, not just the certificate. An ISO/IEC 17025 certificate only covers the parameters and ranges on the lab’s scope. Confirm your instrument’s range is on it.
- Accreditation body. Look the lab up in the ANAB or A2LA directory and read its current scope.
- As-found data. Your quality system needs as-found and as-left results to assess work done with an instrument that drifted.
- Measurement uncertainty. Accredited certificates report it for every point. Our guide to reading an ISO 17025 certificate shows what to look for.
