Note on particle counters: This page is for general information only. Techmaster does not calibrate particle counters of any make or model, and particle counters are not on our ANAB ISO/IEC 17025 scope (certificate AC-1736). Techmaster only performs calibration services that are covered by our scope. For particle counter calibration, please contact your instrument’s manufacturer or its authorized service provider, and follow any service requirements they specify. If you prefer, send us your request and, with your permission, we will forward it to the manufacturer. See what is on our accredited scope.

What is accredited in California?
Every “Yes” or range below is on Techmaster’s ANAB ISO/IEC 17025 scope, certificate AC-1736. Exact ranges and measurement uncertainties are on our published accreditation scope.

| Discipline | Vista (San Diego) | Santa Clara (Silicon Valley) |
|---|---|---|
| RF and microwave: power sensor cal factors, SSB phase noise to 50 GHz, noise figure to 26.5 GHz | Yes | Yes |
| Oscilloscopes, leveled sine to 2.1 GHz | Yes | Yes |
| Torque tools | Yes | Yes |
| DC and low-frequency electrical: DC voltage to 1.1 kV, current to 1,000 A via shunts | Yes | Yes |
| Clamp-on current to 1,025 A AC/DC | Yes | Yes |
| Environmental (temperature and humidity) chambers | No, RH and temperature measurement only | Yes |
| Vibration: 0.2 to 36 g pk, 1 Hz to 10 kHz | No | Yes (only Techmaster lab) |
| 1-D and 2-D dimensional incl. non-contact vision, surface plates, thread plug and ring gages | No | Yes (only Techmaster lab) |
| Force to 100,000 lbf; volumetric 1 to 220 mL | No | Yes (only Techmaster lab) |
| High voltage to 100 kV | Yes | No |
| Pipettes and gauss meters | Yes (only Techmaster lab) | No |
Particle counters are not on the ANAB scope at any Techmaster lab, and Techmaster does not calibrate them. Patient simulators and optical radiometers are not on the ANAB scope at any Techmaster lab either. We calibrate them with NIST-traceable certificates, not ISO/IEC 17025 accredited ones.
Which California industries do we calibrate for?
- Aerospace and defense: Southern California primes and suppliers, with RF, microwave and oscilloscope calibration on accredited certificates for AS9100 and defense quality programs.
- Semiconductors and electronics: Silicon Valley design and production test: spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power sensors, oscilloscopes and DC power supplies.
- Biotech and medical devices: San Diego and Bay Area labs and manufacturers: pipettes at Vista, environmental chambers at Santa Clara, and electrical safety equipment for ISO 13485 programs.
- Precision manufacturing: Dimensional gages, force and vibration equipment calibrated in Santa Clara.
How do California customers send equipment?
We offer free local pickup and delivery in Southern California and Silicon Valley. Contact us to confirm pickup for your address, or to ask about on-site calibration for equipment that should not leave your facility. Customers elsewhere in California ship to whichever lab holds the accreditation their instruments need. For hours and directions, see the Vista lab page.
The same accredited calibration services are available nationwide from our other labs. See our accredited calibration services and all calibration lab locations.
How do you choose a calibration lab in California?
- Scope, not just the certificate. An ISO/IEC 17025 certificate only covers the parameters and ranges on the lab’s scope. Confirm your instrument’s range is on it.
- Accreditation body. Look the lab up in the ANAB or A2LA directory and read its current scope.
- As-found data. Your quality system needs as-found and as-left results to assess work done with an instrument that drifted.
- Measurement uncertainty. Accredited certificates report it for every point. Our guide to reading an ISO 17025 certificate shows what to look for.
Other calibration providers operating in California include Micro Quality Calibration, Tektronix, Micro Precision and SIMCO. Check each provider’s current scope in its accreditation body’s directory, as we recommend for any lab, including ours. Our comparison of US calibration providers covers the national labs.
